What to Include in a Staffing Request

A clear staffing request helps everyone start with the same picture of the work. Before you contact a staffing partner, gather the details a recruiter will need to discuss the assignment with you.

1. Describe the work, not just the job title

“Warehouse associate” can mean picking orders, receiving inventory, operating equipment, or a mix of tasks. List the work the person will do during a typical shift. Note the tools, equipment, and experience that are essential, and separate them from skills you can teach on site.

2. Give the exact worksite and schedule

Include the city and state of the worksite, shift start and end times, days of the week, expected hours, and any schedule changes you already know about. If several sites or shifts are involved, describe each one. This helps the staffing team discuss availability and commuting expectations with candidates.

3. Explain the size and length of the need

How many people do you need, when would you like them to start, and how long do you expect the assignment to last? If you are still deciding, say so. Choice1Temps offers temporary and temp-to-hire staffing, and the arrangement can be part of the conversation.

4. Identify requirements and the on-site contact

Share the physical demands, required credentials or experience, equipment used, and any site-specific instructions that affect the role. Name the person who will explain the work, receive the employee on arrival, and answer questions during the assignment. Discuss screening expectations with your staffing contact rather than assuming every role has the same requirements.

5. Say what a good first week looks like

What tasks should the worker be ready to perform? Who provides instruction? What feedback would tell you the assignment is on track? A few concrete expectations make the conversation more useful than a long list of generic traits.

A simple staffing request checklist

  • Company and worksite city and state
  • Job duties and must-have skills
  • Number of people and preferred start date
  • Shifts, hours, and expected assignment length
  • Temporary or temp-to-hire preference, if known
  • On-site supervisor and best way to follow up

You can send these details through the Choice1Temps staffing request form. The team can follow up on anything that is not settled yet. For a local contact, see our office directory, including Massachusetts and Florida.
